I write my blog this week having just got home after playing golf at Royal Portrush today.  It was such a treat and to be honest I played some decent golf but it is hard not to lose a ball or two.  My friend Andy captured this bunker shot.  My reference is to Sky Sports presenter and host of Tee Time Tips Nick Dougherty who I interviewed in Belfast a few months back.  I was channeling my ‘inner Nick’ with this one.

It has been a brilliant week, which included ‘Deputy Dave’ from work and his fiancé Leanne tying the knot at Galgorm golf resort and spa.  We had a brilliant day out with the guys from the Radio Station and I DJ’d to round off the evening, which was great fun.  Paulo, Rebecca and myself stayed the night and on only a few hours sleep presented the radio show from the hotel the following morning.  Picture this, temporary studio set up in the spa and we rocked down to do the show in our robes.  Class stuff.

The Rugby World Cup has kicked off but unfortunately for Ireland having beat Scotland they suffered a defeat to the host nation Japan on Saturday morning. On the previous evening I was back on MC duty at the Kingspan Stadium watching Ulster defeat Ospreys.  Ulster’s John Cooney was in fine form and I caught up with him at a corporate lunch I was hosting at Coleraine FC on Saturday afternoon.  We discussed Irelands performance, his career to date plus the disappointment of not making the world cup squad.  He was in fine form, open, honest and a true gent.

We are into October tomorrow and the countdown to Christmas is on.  Don’t curse me.  I can’t wait.

Thanks for reading,

Pete
